European Datacomm has produced the first fall detector so that motorcyclists can get assistance as swiftly as possible in the event of an accident.
Motorcyclists are exceptionally vulnerable in heavy traffic; their lives are of paramount importance and we must aim to protect them.
According to IBSR statistics, the number of motorcyclists killed on Belgium's roads has risen by 7% over the past ten years.

The figures are frightening: over 4,000 motorbike accidents recorded in 2007, of which a fearfully large proportion 844 (25%) involved serious injuries and 136 deaths.

For motorcyclists, the risk of death is 20 times greater than in a car.

A fall at over 80km/h can have serious and sometimes irreversible consequences.
With EDC SMART BIKE, the motorcyclist can feel more safe on the road should he be unlucky enough to become the victim of an accident.
If you leave the road and fall down the verge where no one can see you to call for immediate help, EDC SMART BIKE will trigger an alert to the electronic surveillance centre, showing the precise location of the incident.

How does it work?
  • It detects the motorcyclist's fall.
  • It detects improper lifting and removal of the motorbike.
  • Raises the alarm if the battery is disconnected.

  • In the event of any movement with the engine not running, the system will immediately alert the electronic surveillance centre. Recovery action will be initiated within 5 minutes of the theft.
