Throughout the world, military, governmental peacekeeping and aid forces face an increasing need to provide safety and security to mission personnel and vehicles in remote locations.
The EDC75i Vehicle Tracking & Tracing system gives you the ability to monitor your vehicles worldwide. Our EDC75i units are IRIDIUM based. This means that we can offer a real worldwide coverage beyond the reach of traditional communication networks.
A secured website with your personal “password” and “login id” is included in the package. You can trace the position of your car(s) at any moment, day and night, wherever they are.
As this VTS system is mostly used in remote area, where no normal maps are available, we use Google Earth to visualize the positions of your car(s). It is even possible to have “Track records” of your vehicles.
In case of emergency, the EDC75i is equipped with a “panic button”. This alarm signal has priority to all other signals sent by the EDC75i unit. The emergency calls arrive at a “Call Center”, where specialized personal guarantee a continuous follow-up of the situation, providing critical surveillance of alarm events on a 24-hour basis. They proceed according to a well elaborated protocol and contact the responsible person in charge, so that action can be taken in no time. Furthermore our “Technical Department” and “Customer Support Division” are always at your service.
The EDC75I is a Remote Vehicle Tracking unit that is specifically designed to enable Vehicle Fleet Management and Incident handling on EDC's Secured Fleet Management website and Incident handling via EDC s Call Centre platform.
The EDC75I printed circuit board is equipped with the Iridium 9601 Short Burst Data modem and mounted in an ABS housing (in standard version). IO and antenna connectors are fully compliant with the requirements of the Automotive Industry.
Geographical positioning (tracking and tracing) of the Vehicle is realized through the use of a State of the Art GPS receiver, offering best possible accuracy.
The EDC75I unit is powered from the Vehicle's battery.
When the ignition is switched on, the unit will read it's saved position stored in memory at the moment ignition was switched off (latitude, longitude), while it powers up the GPS receiver. A status message will be sent to EDC's back office servers every 10 minutes as long as ignition stays on.
An EDC75 status message holds the following information:
The status messages will be sent to the Secured EDC FMS Website for fleet management functionality.
With the incident push button pressed, the unit will go into an incident mode for 60 minutes. During this period, a status message will be sent every 5 minutes.
Incident status messages will be sent to EDC's 24h/365d Call Centre service.
The customer can define up to 3 contact phone numbers for further incident handling. Simultaneously incident status messages will also be sent to maximum 3 customer defined email addresses for incident follow up.
