Take the following steps to ensure the proper functioning of your Iridium handset:

  • Test your phone monthly

Keep the battery charged For optimal performance, completely discharge battery before fully charging.

  • Ensure simcard is locked in place.

Remove the battery to check the tray is securely positioned and locked.

  • Protect your phone’s antenna

Stow the antenna in down position when not in use.

  • Call outside with a clear view avoiding obstructions to sky and horizon such as buildings and trees.
Placing calls with your Iridium phone

> To prepare, go outside with a clear view of the sky and horizon. Turn the phone on and ensure that the antenna is extended and pointing straight up toward the sky. Wait for the phone to register on the network - the LED indicator on top of the phone will be flashing green.

> To place a call, dial 00, the country code, and then the phone number. Press the green button to start the call.

> To hang up a call, press the red button.

> To answer an incoming call, press the OK button, and extend the antenna.
