Iridium Prepaid Service

Iridium prepaid service eliminates the burden of monthly bills or subscription fees while providing the same reach and accessibility users have come to expect from Iridium.

Prepaid simcard valid for a minimum of 1 month.

With Iridium's Prepaid service, users have from one month up to two years to use their prepaid minutes. Prepaid users can recharge in multiples of 50, 75, 200, 500, 3000 or 5000 minutes, which is equivalent to minutes of calls to any landline phone in the world. Unused minutes carry forward with each recharge for future use.
European Datacomm makes recharging your Iridium prepaid sim easy. Your can reload on-line, by e-mail order, by fax or by bank transfer.

Prepaid recharge online

Using our Prepaid Online Recharge option is quick, convenient, easy-to-use and secure as you will be redirected to a Secured web link to process your credit card payment on-line.

How to use Reload on-line ?

You must have purchased your Prepaid Iridium Sim Card from European Datacomm (EDC). It is not possible to reload Sim Cards from other Iridium Service Providers than EDC through our E-Shop. Therefore you must be registered as an Iridium Prepaid client before you can access the reload E-shop module. So before anything else, create your user login to complete your registration as an EDC Iridium Prepaid Customer.

You will aslo need the Iridium MSISDN (your Iridium phone number starting with “8816315...” or “8816325...”) of the Sim Card you want to reload.

Security

The security of your payment transaction is our main concern. For your actual payment transaction you will be redirected to a secured zone on the Internet using SSL standards for encryption.
Your financial data and other private information will be stored in a secured database and will never be used or released for any other purposes than for this payment transaction.

How will I know my reload was successful?

You will automatically receive an e-mail message on your registered e-mail address confirming every successful reload transaction within 1 business day.

Successful reloading implies a positive result of the credit card payment verification procedure.
European Datacomm has no liability with regard to reload failure due to unsuccessful credit card payment transactions.

Prepaid sim card recharge by e-mail or fax

Using our Prepaid E-Mail or Fax Recharge option is also convenient, easy-to-use and secure as you only have to send us your credit card details once to register as a Credit Card Recharge Customer and pay all your future Iridium Prepaid Reloads by credit card.

In order to enjoy this option, you can download the Iridium Prepaid Credit Card Authorization form (word file). Fill out the form and send it together with a copy of your credit card and a copy of your identity card to the address or fax number indicated on the form.

Then simply send us your reload requests by e-mail to: reload@edchq.com” or by fax to +32-3-210 15 25, indicating the MSISDN and ICCID of your Prepaid SIM Card and the number of E-vouchers (50, 75, 500, 3000 or 5000 minutes or an extra 1 month expiry period) you want to reload your Iridium prepaid card with. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail or fax of your reload, confirming your new validity date and current balance of your prepaid card.

Prepaid recharge by bank transfer

If you prefer a bank transfer, your reload request will be effected upon receipt of your payment on our bank account with indication of your MSISDN and ICCID. In order to comply with tax regulations EDC may be required to collect VAT on your prepaid recharge purchases. Before paying check your total transaction amount with our customer service to make sure it will include the appropriate tax amount.

When should I reload?

Whenever you want, as there is no need to wait until your call credit turns to zero or you reach the expiry date of your sim card. The only rule is that you can't accumulate more expiry load than 24 months.
Always reload before the expiry date of your sim card if you plan to keep using your Iridium Prepaid simcard with the remaining call credit. 

To check the expiry date of your sim card or your remaining call balance, calling Iridium via 2888 will announce the number of days remaining in the validity period as well as the number of unused minutes on your simcard (Iridium to PSTN minutes).

Remember that your prepaid recharge payment has to be processed before your sim card expires.  Any unused minutes will be lost when a prepaid account exceeds its validity period.  After a prepaid account has expired it can only be reactivated within 90 DAYS from the expiry date.

Iridium Crew Calling Services

With a single SIM Card and a single Iridium phone, vessels can have both traditional subscription service and prepaid service. Captain and officers use their traditional subscription service as required for ship's business, while crewmembers can place prepaid personal calls using Iridium’s GoChat Crew Calling scratchcards
