FleetBroadband, brings a new dimension to maritime communication, offering a genuine broadband internet protocol (IP) data capability, backed by the power of the Inmarsat-4 (I-4) satellites. With FleetBroadband, maritime users have simultaneous access to voice and high-speed data, along with email, fax and text messaging.
FleetBroadband equipment was designed with straightforward installation and integration in mind. There are low gain and high gain radome covered antenna types available form different manufacturers (Thrane & Thrane, JRC, Furuno, etc…).
Underneath, the radomes are high-quality directional, stabilized EIRP (effective isotropic radiated power) antennas. Below deck, the compact FleetBroadband main unit is compatible with all major communications systems and ports, including RJ-11, RJ- 45 and ISDN RJ-45 for easy connection of external equipment. (PC, fax, phone, …)
Three types of terminal are available, with different performance capabilities and size depending on the customers requirements.
Based on 3G standards, FleetBroadband provides constant, simultaneous access to voice and high-speed data services, on a global basis.
Sea chart information, online weather data, route planning e-mail and voice calls can now all be undertaken at the same time, highly increasing information and communication efficiency on board.
