Container Management Application

To allow our customers easier use of the full potential of our new EDC77 Container Security Devices, EDC introduces a new version of its Container Management Application. This new version allows for easier container management and trip navigation. It also improves on visualization for trips and adds visualization for added extra data such as temperature and humidity.

While upgrading the Container Management website EDC also made several improvements to its back-office services. These allow our customers to integrate the data available from the EDC77 devices with their own systems.

EDC also introduced early-warning systems when predefined temperature,humidity or location limits are exceeded. These warnings can be sent via SMS, email or even via a 24/7 call-center.

The combination of the EDC77 device with the ease-of-use of EDC web applications and the addition of several services makes this product an impressive asset for your business.

European Datacomm (EDC) launches its new EDC77 Container Security Device

On October 15, 2010, European Datacomm, a Belgium company and licensee of Powers International, LLC, announced the entry of its new state-of-the-art Container Security Device into the market.

The Belgium company European Datacomm has developed and brought the latest generation Container Security Device (CSD) to the world market.  The device called EDC77 provides communication on GPRS ( GSM technology) and satellite. Currently EDC77 is using Iridium as its satellite communications provider.

EDC77 employs the latest in sensor technology to include door, light, temperature, humidity, vibration and shock sensors. The EDC78, expected early 2011, will also include radiation sensors. The EDC77 It is also unique in its "authorized agent" feature which identifies electronically the accountable persons verifying the cargo and its quantity at "stuffing" and at opening at destination.

The new CSD was put into use immediately by the European Union's CM program and is expected to be adopted soon in certain Asian markets and in the United States.
